A day in the life of an Assistant Cook:
You are committed to service excellence and pride yourself in exceeding dining expectations by contributing to a culinary experience of the highest quality, consistency and creativity. A day in the life of a Dishwasher-Cook’s Helper:
Under the direction of the Sous Chef, you will be responsible for the cleanliness of all kitchen equipment and utensils. You will support the cooks with meal preparation and presentation. You will clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment and utensils, including floors, walls, and storage rooms, and assist with meal preparation and presentation, according to established methods and guidelines. You will support the kitchen team and contribute to the fine dining standard for food quality and presentation; promote health and safety in the workplace, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation; and support all staff to recognize and prevent unsafe acts in the workplace.

Responsibilities of the PSW include: reporting observations in the client’s condition, especially changes from normal behavior, using correct information and proper documentation procedures; performing client care according to the agreed upon Client Care Plan; assisting with simple health care routines such as reminders to maintain dietary restrictions, medication regimen, and recommended exercises; teaching of safety and home management skills, while promoting independence; immediately reporting any emergency situations to the Client Care Manager and/or Charge Nurse; and much more!

This role emphasizes relationship development that leads directly to sales. You will possess excellent interpersonal skills with proven relationship selling skills, superior oral, written and listening communication skills along with strong planning, organizational and management skills. You will be able to multi-task, be self-directed, motivated and resourceful and perform in a highly professional manner. You will have a demonstrated ability to organize workload and set priorities accordingly. You will possess the education or equivalent work experience consistent with post-secondary sales and marketing program or related programs. Previous experience implementing sales and/or marketing plans, public and community relations campaigns and special events is an asset. You will have the knowledge of and experience in the seniors’ market, public health sector and private health sector and experience in event planning and with Customer Relationship Management systems. A valid driver’s license is required as there will be occasional local travel to represent the community or make sales calls. Availability to work flexible hours is also required as evening and weekend work will be involved to ensure continuous sales coverage.

]]>Preferred qualifications include previous experience working in an office environment, Grade 12 education supplemented with training in general office procedures, and demonstrate computer ability with MS Office. Experience working in a “5 star” hotel or similar environment would be an asset. Night Audit experience is an asset as well. You have the ability to work independently or in a team environment and must be able to work without direct supervision. Ability to accommodate shift work, including weekends is a requirement. This Full-Time opportunity is for Wednesday to Sunday 4pm -12am shifts.
