Job Description
Amica at Bayview is seeking to recruit a Director of Care that is responsible for providing leadership and direction for all direct nursing services to residents. In addition, this position participates in the promotion and provision of the highest quality of service to residents and ensures compliance with established standards. Under the direction of the General Manager, the Director of Care is responsible for executing business strategies, plans and programs through:
- Assignment of appropriate staffing levels to ensure nursing requirements are met
- Assessment of medical background and care requirements of potential residents
- Enhancement of superior services and care of our residents, advocating the AMICA Wellness & Vitality™ program
- Management and promotion of positive employee relations
- Marketing and promotion of Amica community including Assisted Living Services through tours and meetings with potential residents and families
- Management of ‘five-star’ service excellence
- Participation in budget administration
- Commitment to the continued development of the AMICA brand
- Participation in administrative on-call rotation
Qualifications:
- Degree/diploma in Nursing, plus current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and membership with Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO)
- Preferred management experience and administrative experience is required with previous experience in the gerontology field.
- Excellent communicator, resilient, and flexible to meet the changing priorities of a dynamic team community. Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire people and think “outside of the box”.
- Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining “Five-Star” service excellence, embracing positive change and growth, and building relationships with the community.
