Full-Time Vice President – Property Development in Mississauga

Job Description

Reporting to the SVP Investment Management, the Vice President, Property Development will be accountable for ensuring the successful implementation of full lifecycle senior’s housing development projects including spearheading project identification, due diligence, planning, design, sourcing land and engineering mandates.  Further, the Vice President, Property Development will provide oversight to a team of development professionals and will play an instrumental role in contributing to the development of short and long-term strategic plans for the department as they relate to projects, operations, policies, and procedures with the objective of achieving value maximization and return on investment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Initiate partner development relationships and review and monitor partner development submissions and developments;
  • Initiate new partner development relationships with target partners and review, approve and monitor partner submissions and developments;
  • Prepare memorandums and supporting analysis to obtain approval from the senior leadership team and the Investment Committee of the Board;
  • Investigate, advise on and secure development opportunities, including new opportunities, redevelopment, adjacent site acquisitions/expansions, mixed land use opportunity and rejuvenation within the existing portfolio;
  • Develop proposal reports and business plans (cash flow requirements, funding requirements, operating pro-formas, etc.) and communicate project plans to stakeholders and senior management for review and approval;
  • Obtain all municipal and other governmental approvals for projects;
  • Direct a development team throughout project lifecycle and ensure adherence to project timeline, budget and quality assurance benchmarks;
  • Foster solid working relationships with development partners, consultants, government agencies, and the real estate community to secure critical support for projects;
  • Uphold and promote the organization’s values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality, and integrity as set out in Revera’s Code of Conduct.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Urban Planning, Engineering, or a related discipline; MBA preferred;
  • 10+ years’ experience in working in condo, multi-family, and senior’s housing real estate development;
  • Experience managing the approval processes as well as working closely with municipal governments and legislation is critical;
  • Senior’s housing experience preferred;
  • Strong knowledge of financial analysis and reporting;
  • Manage, coach, mentor a team of development and construction professionals;
  • Cultivate strong relationships with external stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication, written and verbal;
  • Proficiency working within a large scale, collaborative, regulated operations environment;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
